who just enjoy old photographs, whether they know the people portrayed or not.
These are some of the people that Charlie Pickering knew: friends, family,
clients, or just people he observed. Most of them have long passed on. Some are
still with us, but up in years.
Some visitors may recognize
relatives who used to live in Nickerie. We hope you will enjoy seeing them on
this page.
Deze pagina is
speciaal aangemaakt voor mensen die van oude foto’s genieten, of ze de mensen
op de foto’s kennen of niet. Dit zijn enkele van de mensen die Charlie
Pickering gekend heeft: vrienden, familie, clienten, of gewoon mensen die hij
observeerde. De meesten zijn reeds lang heengegaan; sommigen zijn nog bij ons,
maar zijn al hoogbejaard.
Enkele bezoekers
zullen misschien familieleden herkennen, die in Nickerie hebben gewoond. We
hopen dat u het fijn zult vinden, om hen op deze pagina tegen te komen.
 De Openbare School te Nickerie rond 1930. Dit schoolgebouw stond
aan de Oranje Nassaustraat, nu Bharosstraat, op de plaats waar nu het
Residence Inn hotel staat.

Van Tjallie's vijf kinderen zijn Elsa en George, rechts op de foto, reeds overleden.
Evert, links, werd in 2006 tachtig jaar oud.

Wie zijn deze mensen? De man in uniform moet de heer Egger zijn,
officier bij de Scheepvaart Maatschappy Suriname.

national dress.

De Militaire Kapel in actie. Rechts op de achtergrond is het huisje/studio
